Biography
Jose Luis Ozawa Meida, DDS, MS, graduated with honors from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) Faculty of Odontology in 1989. After graduation he was accepted for the Advanced Prosthodontics speciality residency, graduating in 1992. From 1993-1994, He was a Technical trainee in Dental Ceramics at the Yamanashi Prefecture (Japan). In 2004, Dr Ozawa was awarded with a Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) scholarship in Advanced Oral Implantology at the Center for Oral Rehabilitation, Section of Oral Implantology at Fukuoka Dental College (Japan) with Chairman Prof. Masaroh Matsuura DDS, PhD. Since 1995, Dr Ozawa has been teaching Prosthodontics. He taught Fixed Prosthodontics and Occlusion at the Military Dental School, Mexican Army and Air Force University. And at the Faculty of Odontology, National Autonomous University of Mexico. Currently, he is a Clinical Professor at the speciality of Prosthodontics and Implant Prosthodontics, at the Advanced Speciality of Oral Implantology, Post-Graduate and Research Division, Faculty of Odontology, National Autonomous University of Mexico. Dr. Ozawa is an ITI speaker and Fellow of the International Team for Implantology, Director of the ITI StudyClub South Mexico city, a member of the American Equilibration Society. With Terry T. Tanaka DDS, He is a researcher at the Clinical Research Foundation (ChulaVista, CA./USA). Also He maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics, Implant Dentistry and Orofacial Pain. Since 2019, He is Chairman of the Diplomate Implant Dentistry, Continue Education, Faculty of Odontology, National Autonomous University of Mexico
His father was a dentist/prosthodontist, active mexican dental society member & professor (Prof. Jose Yoshinori Ozawa-Deguchi DDS,MDSc 1928-2009) at the Dental School of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, taught Complete Dentures for 45 years. And also He was Professor at Facultad de Odontología/Universidad Latinoamericana, Escuela Militar de Odontología/Universidad del Ejercito y Fuerza Aerea, Facultad de Odontología/Universidad Autonoma del Estado de México, He wrote many articles and 3 books in Complete Dentures and Geriatric Prosthodontics. He was President of the Mexican National College of Dentist/Colegio Nacional de Cirujanos Dentistas AC (CNCD), Founder President of the Mexican Nissei Stomathological Studies Society. He received many honors in his career such as the Mexican National Dentistry Award/CNCD, Merit Teacher medal and Diploma from the Mexican Secretary of Defense, Nikkei Merit from the Japan Government, UNAM Merit teacher Medal and Diploma for 25 and 35 years as Distinguished Professor at UNAM, AAPAUNAM Merit Teacher from the UNAM Teacher´s Union AAPAUNAM. Also had private practice for 50 years in Mexico city where many patients appreciated his professional dental work and his humanitarian services.
